Is there a free accessibility checker that actually fixes the code, not an overlay?
Most free checkers stop at a list of problems, and overlays never touch the problems at all. Jralo does both halves: a free check that tells you what is wrong, and a fix that lands in your code where it belongs.
How it works
- Run the free check. Enter your address. Jralo opens your homepage and up to five more pages in a real browser and tests them against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 level A and AA rules that automated testing can check, plus website QA: broken links, page errors, images that fail to load and slow pages. No sign-up.
- Connect GitHub. Install the Jralo app on GitHub and pick the repositories it may see. It cannot see any others.
- Press "Fix these problems with AI". One fix cycle works through everything the latest check found, whether that is five problems or fifty.
- Review the pull request. Website Mechanic changes the code, runs the checks again and opens one pull request on a new branch, usually in 15 to 20 minutes, listing what it fixed and what still needs a person. Nothing goes live until you merge it.
One fix cycle fixes everything your latest check found and opens one pull request. No pull request, no charge: the cycle goes back to your wallet.
What Website Mechanic never does
- Never pushes to your main branch, merges or deploys.
- Never changes your CI, deployment, secrets or environment files.
- Never adds an overlay, widget or script to your pages.
- Your code is not kept after the job and is never used to train AI.
Jralo compared with other tools people ask about

Which one fits
If you only want a list and are happy to paste snippets in yourself, a scanner that gives fix code may be enough. If your site's code is on GitHub and you want the fixes made for you and handed over as a pull request your developer can review, that is what Jralo's Website Mechanic does, after a check that costs nothing. Whatever you choose, avoid relying on an overlay: the US Federal Trade Commission ordered one overlay vendor to pay USD 1 million in 2025 over claims that its tool made websites compliant. What no tool can promise
Automated testing finds many accessibility problems, not all of them, and some fixes need a person, such as writing a good description for a photo or choosing brand colours with enough contrast. No one can certify a website as ADA compliant. What Jralo gives you is the fixes it can make in code and a dated record of every check and fix.
Questions people ask
What is the difference between an accessibility overlay and fixing the code?
An overlay is a script that adds a widget and tries to patch the page in the visitor's browser; the page's code, with its missing labels and keyboard traps, stays the same. Fixing the code changes your templates and components, so the fix is there for every visitor and stays if you stop paying.
Is the Jralo check really free?
Yes. The Free plan checks one site when you press the button, up to 3 times a day, covering your homepage plus up to 5 linked pages, for accessibility and website QA problems. No sign-up is needed for a check. Daily automatic checks start with the Site plan at $19 a month.
How does Jralo fix accessibility issues in my code?
You install the Jralo app on GitHub and pick the repositories it may see. Press "Fix these problems with AI" and Website Mechanic changes the code, runs the checks again and opens one pull request on a new branch, usually in 15 to 20 minutes. It never merges or deploys; you review and merge.
What if my site is not on GitHub?
Shopify stores whose theme is connected to GitHub get a pull request; otherwise the Jralo for Shopify app works on the theme and gives you the fixed theme as a file to preview and publish. Sites on hosted platforms without a repository get step-by-step fixes in the check report.
What are accessiBe alternatives that actually fix the code?
Look for a tool that changes your site instead of adding a widget. Overlay products such as accessiBe and UserWay add a script that alters pages in the visitor's browser, while the code underneath stays the same. Jralo works the other way round: it tests your pages against WCAG 2.2 A and AA with axe-core, and Website Mechanic fixes the problems in your theme or code as a GitHub pull request you review. Free testers such as WAVE and Lighthouse report problems but do not fix them.
Is there a WCAG checker that fixes issues automatically?
Yes, for the problems automated checks can find. Jralo checks your homepage and up to five more pages against WCAG 2.2 A and AA for free, then Website Mechanic fixes what the check found in your code and opens one pull request, usually in 15 to 20 minutes. It never merges or deploys on its own, and some fixes, such as writing a good photo description, still need a person. Your first fix is free; after that a fix cycle is $49.
Will a fix make my site ADA or WCAG compliant?
No tool can truthfully certify that, and Jralo does not claim it. Automated checks find many accessibility problems, not all of them, and some fixes need a person. Jralo fixes what automated checks can find and keeps a dated record of every check and fix.
