Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Jralo exists to help website owners find and fix problems on their own sites. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.
You must not use Jralo, or anything it produces, to:
- Identify, list, research or select businesses or websites as targets for demand letters, complaints, lawsuits or other legal action, or help anyone who does.
- Check, at volume, websites you do not own and have no right to test, including by using several accounts, scripts or IP addresses to get around limits.
- Sell, share, publish or pass on check results about websites you do not own or are not authorised to test.
- Contact any business with check results about its own website unless that business asked you to test it.
- Demand money or anything of value from anyone in connection with the accessibility of their website, other than ordinary fees for services they asked you to provide.
- Use Website Mechanic on a repository you do not control, or connect a repository without the right to change its code.
- Check pages behind logins, paywalls or other access controls without authorisation, or try to get around any access control.
- Overload, attack, probe or disrupt any website or the Service, or point a check at a non-public or internal network address.
- Say or imply that any website is "ADA compliant", "WCAG compliant", "certified" or protected from legal claims because of Jralo results, the badge, the public record or a directory listing.
- Show a copy of the badge that is not the live one, change its wording, or show it on a site where it is not active.
- Resell the Service, or access to it, to anyone else. Reselling to clients will be possible only under separate Agency terms, which are not yet offered.
- Reverse engineer the Service or use it to build a competing data set.
- Upload unlawful content, malware, or personal data you have no right to share.
- Use Website Mechanic, or any AI feature of Jralo, to create sexual, explicit, hateful, violent, deceptive or otherwise harmful content, or to make changes to a website whose purpose is to publish such content. Website Mechanic only writes fixes for accessibility and website QA problems.
What happens if you do
We watch patterns of use to enforce this policy. A breach may lead to immediate suspension, closing your account without a refund, removing your badge and directory listing, deleting the related check data, and reporting to authorities where the law requires it.
